Black Pearl is the ideal follow-up to the Maduro, and is creating a real stir in the industry. In less than a year, it has become our most popular cigar. Originally introduced in only one size – Gran Robusto – the line now extends to include the Gran Belicoso and the Gran Corona.

At the heart of Black Pearl is our most powerful filler leaf – 100% Cuban-seed Corojo ligero . Only recently seen outside the island, it is a hybrid of traditional Cuban Criollo black tobaccos. Cubans reserve it for wrapper, favoring its uncommon auburn hue and fine texture. Our master blenders select this leaf for filler, to give Black Pearl the character and complexity of true Havanas. The wrapper is an extra-choice Connecticut broadleaf, as used in the Maduro line. The wrapper is coffee-black, which classifies Black Pearl as an oscuro .  The wrapper's added body complements the cigar's potent Cuban-seed filler.
