La Perla Habana has made a change to its line of Maduro cigars, implementing a new triple-fermented broadleaf wrapper. According to Doug Wood, president of La Perla, the triple-fermentation was developed and perfected in Cuba. Very few tobaccos are fermented a third time, especially outside Cuba. This Dominican cigar has been earning accolades from every source for their outstanding brand. Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider are effusive with praise, calling it “a rich, full-bodied cigar… sweet wood flavors-rich, musky finish…dark, oily and well-made.” La Perla Habana has been voted the “Top Boutique Brand” by Smoke. They have not let this rating go to their head by raising the price. This is a great cigar at a fair price. As the name suggests, they are in the business for the long haul, not the quick splash.
